PROGRAM:

Does your building design and construction meet the mandatory requirements for barriers? Can you clearly identify the continuity of the air barrier around the entire building envelope?  Does your building meet current Code regulations?  There is more to correctly designing the exterior envelope than just water-management and continuous insulation.

This all-day event is filled with continuing education credits, live demonstrations and hands-on activities.

Why should you be there? The building industry has undergone tremendous changes in the past 20 years. Being relevant has meant expanding your understanding of building science. In the 1990’s it was adding an Energy Code. In the 2000’s it was insulating and sealing joints. Now in the 2010’s it is continuous insulation and complete barriers. Let us help you keep up.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
  • Understand the impact of air leakage and vapor transmission on building performance
  • Understand the material types and the application of these barriers
  • Learn to recognize recent changes in barrier standards and testing and understand their impact on the building envelope
  • Learn to recognize proper installation techniques of barriers through observation and participation in demonstrations
