"Secret World of Bats" Science Safari

Did you know there are over 1,000 species of bats in the world, making up a quarter of all mammal species, and that some live for more than 40 years?

YSI presents a special talk on bats at YSI's Vasona Lake County Park location, led by Dave Johnston, Ph.D., a world-renowned expert on bats. It will include a bat discovery hike along Vasona Lake and nearby lawn areas. Yes, there are bats at Vasona!

Dave Johnston, a "YSI Kid" and former YSI Executive Director, is a Senior Wildlife Ecologist at H.T. Harvey and Associates who has worked with California bats since 1992. He is widely regarded for his research and expertise on bats in the Americas and Africa.
