Welcome to Kids Matter!

Thank you for your interest in the Kids Matter program. 

STOPS to Violence is pleased to offer our Kids Matter program to educate children about personal safety and violence prevention. Our presentations are targeted to children ages 5-12 and include a combination of puppetry, body movement, role-play, interactive discussion and skill-building activities to help provide important safety information in an entertaining and child-centered way.
Through our Kids Matter presentations, children will:
   • Learn about personal safety and violence prevention
   • Understand that it is not ok for others to hurt them or for them to hurt others, and that it’s not their fault if    they are being hurt or witness violence
   • Practice asking for help and saying NO
   • Learn about using instincts as signals of potential danger
   • Practice identifying emotions and using self-regulation strategies to calm themselves in stressful situations
   • Learn strategies and problem solving skills to increase personal safety
   • Understand what they can do to help others
