Make the most of the shortest day of the year! Get outside, reflect on the beauty of winter, and take a walk along the Charles River. Mass Hort educator, Katie Folts, will lead a walk on the trails at Elm Bank, identify plants, and discuss how these plants have adapted to survive cold winters.
Katie Folts is Mass Hort's Education Manager and provides horticulture education to thousands of people every year with the Plantmobile program. She has led interpretive walks in New England, New York, Wisconsin, Oregon, Alaska and Antarctica. She holds a degree from the University of Vermont in Environmental Education and History, and worked for the National Park Service and US Fish and Wildlife Service prior to joining Mass Hort.
