Developing a Self-Determined Classroom and School District


Self-Determination is a best practice in education.  It puts the student at the center of their own lives and prepares them with critical life skills.

Self-Determination enhances the long-term success of school-wide initiatives and Tiered Systems of Support makes self-determination accessible for all students. 

This training provides resources and strategies for schools divisions to:

*Learn Why Self-Determination is Critical for Students with Disabilities.

*Learn How Virginia School Divisions are Promoting Self-Determination.

* Learn New Ideas for Self-Determination Activities

*Learn How the Core Expectations for Students through Tiered Systems of Support and Core Components   of Self-Determination Strengthen and Support Each Other
