What is Trunk or Treat?

Trunk or Treat is a Halloween celebration where excited participants decorate their cars and bring candy to give to Trick or Treaters from our community.  The cars park in a circle and little ghosts and not too scary goblins delight in the festivities and of course - all the candy!

What do I need to know about IHM's Trunk or Treat?

This year, the Men's Club will continue offering Oktoberfest fare in addition to hot dogs. Help us prepare enough for all by preordering your dinner.  If you prefer to buy onsite, please bring cash for dinner!

There are two ways to participate in IHM's Trunk or Treat.  You can sign up to park in the lower lot and hand out candy, or you can register to bring Trick or Treaters to walk the lot in their costumes and get candy.  Below is information about both experiences:

If you want to park in the lower lot and GIVE OUT CANDY:

  • Arrive by 5:30 to park in the lower lot.  Parking is limited so sign up below to reserve a spot.
  • Decorating your car is encouraged but not required.
  • We expect a record crowd.  Please bring enough candy to satisfy lots of hungry little monsters! We also ask families to donate candy if they don't park a car.  This will be shared with everyone to help supplement your stash of candy.
  • Handing out candy starts immediately after the group picture and costume parade.

If you want to Trick or Treat and GET CANDY

  • Please bring a large bag of candy and drop it off at the welcome table.  The candy will be distributed to the cars when they run out.
  • The costume parade starts at the base of the stairs in the lower parking lot.   Arrive early and park in the upper parking lot.  Carpool with friends if possible.
  • Please bring your own Trick or Treat bag.

Of course, you can DO BOTH!

**Remember this is a family event so please decorate and dress accordingly.  Please no toy guns, or knives, and let's keep the gore to a minimum.**
