Reflections from a Candidate after the retreat:
“As the 20+ hours begins to melt deeper into my body, soul, and heart, I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone for a great experience. You were all so generous with your time, and with your love. How do you thank someone for a gift like that? I can’t even begin to put thoughts to paper. Men's Cornerstone Retreat 2017
A 26-hour event for men to take a pause from their life, and reflect on where they came from and where they are going.
Cornerstone is a 26-hour event for men, which begins at 7pm on Friday and ends at 9pm Saturday and is held in the Parish Center at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Ridgewood, NJ. Cornerstone provides an opportunity to learn more about your relationship with God and how he has and continues to have a role in your life. This retreat can help provide you with a greater understanding of your faith. It is not a Bible study group and is not what you may envision. Give it a try; you will not regret it. Meals are provided for the duration of the event.
Who conducts the Cornerstone retreat?
Cornerstone is conducted by team members who are volunteers and members of the parish who have attended Cornerstone in the past. The men who serve on team have experienced Cornerstone first hand and can provide insight during the course of the retreat.
What can I expect during the retreat?
You can expect an opportunity to:
- Relax and Retreat from everyday life
- Refocus on what is important in your life
- Reflect and remember on the blessing in life
- Restore and Renew your faith in God
It is also a time to just meet others who may be experiencing the same challenges that you are. It is a very relaxed atmosphere with good food, good laughs and an experience you will remember for the rest of your life.
