Because the Buddha's teachings are considered to be priceless, and in keeping with the teachings and spirit of generosity or dana, this retreat is freely offered. Donations are welcomed.
There will be two dana baskets set out at the retreat. One will be for dana that will be offered to support Ajahn Tiradhammo's requisites and a separate basket for organizational costs incurred by Victoria IMS. There is no suggested donation amount for supporting Ajahn Tiradhammo's requisites. A family member receives gifts to cover his expenses such as travel, medical, dental. The suggested donation for operational costs for this 1-day event is $20. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
One-Day Retreat with
The Victoria Insight Meditation Society is pleased to welcome Ajahn Tiradhammo, a senior monk in the Thai Forest tradition. There will be periods of silent sitting and walking meditation. New and experienced meditators are welcome.
Ajahn Tiradhammo is a retired abbot of monasteries in the Ajahn Chah lineage, now travelling to many countries to meditate and offer teachings. You can read about his recent wanderings and reflections here.
Ajahn Tiradhammo is the author of several books including: Treasures of the Buddha's Teachings, Working with the Five Hindrances, Contemplations on the Seven Factors of Awakening. These books are freely offered from Forest Sangha.
