Impact of New Overtime Law on Nonprofits: Changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act

Recent changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) has organizations worried about sustainability and capacity development in relation to personnel. The nonprofit sector is faced with the difficult task of adjusting their financial operations while maintaining employee relations. Limited in the ability to increase the price of services, many nonprofits need to develop innovative approaches to maintain their current operations, while adhering to changing regulations.

IHS, in conjunction with Southern Tier Nonprofit Executive Directors (STNED), is working with nonprofit executives, industry leaders, and for-profit organizations to better understand the changing laws, develop resources to maintain employee satisfaction, and meet regulatory demands.

By maintaining our core belief, power in collaboration, IHS invites you to join other Southern Tier nonprofit professionals in a day of communication and learning. On October 20th, we will discuss the changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act, and what nonprofit organizations will need to prepare. The day will include presentations from industry experts and a panel discussion where participants can ask questions specific to their organization. A continental breakfast will be served started at 8:30 a.m. when registration begins.
