Transportation Information 

Fly to John Wayne/Orange County Airport (SNA), 11 miles from the Hilton, Long Beach Airport (LGB), 19 miles from the Hilton or Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), 37 miles from the Hilton.

Check airport web sites for ground transportation options. 

SuperShuttle serves all area airports and is offering a 10% discount on most van and car services to group attendees who book using code WDN3Q via this link or by calling 1-800-blue-van (1-800-258-3826). In addition, the $3 telephone reservation fee is waived for reservations using the group code. Note that SuperShuttle does not have shared van service to/from LGB, but does offer ExecuCar or private van service.

Huntington Beach

While very close to urban Los Angeles, Huntington Beach (also known as "Surf City") has a small town vibe and personality all its own. Downtown's main street, and the classic Huntington Beach pier are just a short walk from the Hilton, and the beach is across the street. You'll find restaurants around the downtown area, and in the new Pacific City center one block north of the Hilton. Tuesday is "Surf City Night" downtown, with a street fair and farmer's market.

Meeting Hotel Information

The Waterfront Beach Hilton is offering a group rate of $199, exclusive of taxes. The rate is based on availability within the group room block; the room block cut-off date is 9-December. The group rate will be extended three days before and after the room block dates of 7-January through 14-January, if rooms are available. The group rate is not available from the Hilton website, only from the group reservation page. For telephone reservations call 1-800-822-SURF (7873), ask for "in house reservations" and mention Group Code IEEE (please call M-F 8AM-6PM or Sat 9AM-3PM). Please book early to ensure availability, especially for weekend arrival or extended stays!

There are no mandatory hotel fees, and guest room internet is complimentary for rooms reserved at the group rate. Discounted valet parking is available for $29/night for overnight stays, or $13/day for day use only. 

Hotel Reservation, Cancellation and Early Departure Policies

Guests may change their arrival date, length of stay or cancel a reservation entirely up to 72 hours before check in without penalty. 

Individuals who cancel a reservation less than 72 hours before check in, or who fail to claim a reservation (No-Show), will be charged one night's room and tax. Individuals who change their arrival date less than 72 hours before check in may be charged for their previously reserved first night at the discretion of the hotel. This charge will be posted to the individual guest credit card provided to guarantee the room reservation.

The Hilton charges an Early Departure Fee of one night's room and tax for guests who depart prior to their confirmed departure date.

Registration

Any individual who attends any part of this interim meeting must register and pay a meeting fee. Meeting registration is not transferrable. Registration and meeting fee options are as follow:

Early Registration (Before 11:59pm PST Tuesday December 13, 2016)

  • $410 US for attendees staying at The Waterfront Beach Hilton (Hilton)*
  • $610 US for local commuter attendees with proof of residency (no hotel stay required)**
  • $710 US for all other attendees (those not registered at Hilton)

Late/Onsite Registration (After 11:59pm PST Tuesday December 13, 2016)

  • $650 US for attendees staying at The Waterfront Beach Hilton (Hilton)*
  • $850 US for all other attendees (those not registered at Hilton)

The combined hotel room stays of 802.3 attendees, along with the meeting fees, pay for meeting rooms, AV equipment, network/Internet services, power hook-ups for laptop computers, continental breakfast, morning and afternoon refreshments, and meeting services and supplies. For this reason, anyone who is not a registered guest at the Waterfront Beach Hilton must pay a higher meeting fee than attendees staying at the meeting hotel. The correct meeting fee must be paid prior to receiving your badge, which permits entrance to scheduled sessions.

* Please note: To qualify as a Hilton guest, you must stay at The Waterfront Beach Hilton for your entire length of stay in Huntington Beach. Contact the meeting planner with any questions about the registration terms, or if you need assistance booking your stay.

** To qualify as a local commuter, you must reside within 25 miles of Huntington Beach.

Cancellation Policy

If you register for this meeting and then are unable to attend, please contact the meeting planner. You must request cancellation of your registration no later than 5pm PST Friday December 30, 2016 to receive a refund of your meeting fee.
