Sign up for the Foster Care Orientation and become a part of the Hawaiian Humane Society’s Foster Care Program. Our foster families help save thousands of lives each year. The one-hour orientation includes an overview of the program, in-home care requirements and more. No other training is necessary to participate in this program.
Animals in foster care may not meet the minimum age/weight requirement for sterilization, require medication or are in need of socialization. Also, there is a need for foster volunteers to help with temporary care of animals. The length of the fostering period may vary.
Must be at least 18 years old and have the time to care for animals in your home. This program can also help students fulfill service learning hours with their families in their own home with parent consent. Parents must attend the training class and students may earn up to 3 hours per day.
Orientation will be held in the Society's Classroom. In order to accommodate parking for potential adopters, park in the grassy lot across the street at Kuhio Elementary School.
Contact Marielle Terbio, Manager of Volunteers, at mterbio@hawaiianhumane.org or 356-2216 for questions.
