Showing Local Food System and Regional Development Impact:

WealthWorks Forum & Workshop

Join your fellow local food system leaders and practitioners, officials, and economic developers to learn how the WealthWorks framework (www.wealthworks.org) works for evaluating and communicating the impact of local food system and regional development efforts.

This forum will showcase the impact that regional food system and value chain work can have in our communities, as well as provide training and facilitation to help practitioners track and communicate impact.

Lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend this event, but pre-registration is required.

10am - 12pm: How WealthWorks Works

Andrew Crosson of Rural Support Partners will present on how the Central Appalachian Network (CAN) has used WealthWorks over the last years to track impact metrics among multiple partner organizations and commnicate impact to development leaders and the public.

Leslie Schaller of Appalachian Center for Economic Networks (ACEnet) will present on the WealthWorks framework for measuring impact and train attendees how to put it into practice.

12pm - 1pm Lunch & Networking*

A lunch using ingredients sourced from local farms will be served.

*Following lunch there will be a hands-on workshop for food system leaders and practitioners - our legislator, economic, and community developer colleagues may opt to depart at this time. We thank you for your participation in the morning session!

1pm - 4pm Workshop for food system practitioners

Food system leaders and practitioners are invited to stay to participate in a facilitated workshop to identify what food system metrics are currently being tracked by participants, identify interest in common WealthWorks metrics, and discuss ways to improve evaluation tools and better communicate impact.
