Downtown DIG (Development Insights Group)

The Downtown DIG program is an event offering insight into Downtown Des Moines development projects. The goal is to inform the downtown community about area projects at their infancy in order to get ahead of general information and promote discussion on such initiatives.

Topic:
This month's DIG will be a three-part presentation featuring RDG Planning and Design discussing, "The Why, How and What of the Iowa Event Center Hotel." 

Presenters: 
  • The Why -  Greg Edwards, President and CEO of the Greater Des Moines CVB will tell the story of missed convention opportunities because Des Moines has not had a convention hotel. 
  • The How -  Jim McCulloh President of DSM Convention Hotel, LLC will explain the complex structure of ownership and financing that has taken place to bring the hotel to fruition. 
  • The What -  Davis Sanders, Principal with RDG Planning & Design will present the concept floor plans as well as interior and exterior imagery.

The cafe is located within the main entrance, up the staircase and to the right.
