Are You a Stellar Speller?

The San Diego Press Club is partnering with the San Diego Public Library Shop for an exciting “word nerd” event: a “Spelling Bee for Grownups" on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at the San Diego Central Library downtown.

Peter Sokolowski, editor at large with Merriam-Webster, will be moderating the event (and bringing the words). Two judges will join him on stage at the downtown library’s Neil Morgan Auditorium: Grant Barrett of the radio show A Way with Words, and Misty Jones, San Diego Public Library Director.

Cost to participate as a speller is $10 per person. It is free for audience members. This event is open to the public. Spellers are encouraged to register in advance to ensure their spot on the stage.

 Your first beverage is complimentary, as is the first two hours of parking in the downtown library's garage.
