2016 Stories of Transformation
~6th - 12th Grade and Alternative Schools~

Due December 16th, 2016

Creating Our Gender Revolution Through Words

What would the world be like if we were all truly equal to each other? Do you think that boys and men are more valued than women and girls? What happens when boys and men are seen as more powerful than girls and women?

Our Gender Revolution believes in a world where everyone can thrive and fulfill their real potential. We want to create communities where everyone has equal value and we all share power, no matter our gender, class, race, ability, and more.

How Does It Work?

Idaho middle, high school, and alternative school students are invited to enter an original poem or essay! Writing must be 75 words or less (title does not count) of an original work on one of the six essential themes. Students can submit up to three poems or essays and can write in the language they can best express themselves.

Awards and Publication:

Authors of the top 10 selections for the middle school/junior high schoool and high school categories will receive $100 and a t-shirt. Authors of the 100 top writings selected for publication will each receive $25 and a t-shirt. Middle School/Junior High and High School books will be released in February 2017.

Make Sure Your Schoool Is Represented!

All published works will list the author, teacher, and school. Poetry Books will be distributed to Idaho's secondary schools.
