Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training

The Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training program is a safe, nonharmful behavior management system designed to help human service providers give the best possible care, welfare, safety and security to disruptive, assaultive, and out-of-control individuals.

Time and time again, the principles and techniques taught in this program have been proven to be effective in resolving potentially violent situations. By participating in this program, you will gain the skills and confidence necessary to handle crisis situations with minimal anxiety and maximum security. This training will help you intervene more safely when behavior becomes dangerous. And most importantly, it won't damage the professional bond you've worked so hard to establish with the individuals in your care.

This one-day crisis prevention training session emphasizes early intervention and nonphysical methods for preventing or managing disruptive behavior. Your hands-on session will include the study and practice of crisis prevention methods, including restraint positions, transport techniques, and team strategies.

Lunch, coffee, and snacks will be provided. If you have any special dietary needs please contact Jennifer Brekke at the SWMSS office no later than Nov. 3rd.

Per the instructor's request, registration will be capped at 25 participants.
