About the Speaker:  Lawrence Grinter (Ph.D. University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill) is a retired Professor of Asian Studies, Department of International Studies, Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base who periodically teaches at Auburn University. He  has co-edited and co-authored numerous books and scholarly articles on Asian security. These include studies of the decisions and legacies of the Vietnam war, 21st century battlefields (focused on cyber, biological weapons and germ warfare), American policy and strategy options in East  Asia, and North Korean nuclear policy. His article on “Chinese military weapons, doctrine and policies, Pacific Focus (volume 28, Issue 1, pages 1-16) appeared in April 2013.
