Children's Clothing Drive to Support the Committee to Aid Abused Women

Help us empower survivors of domestic violence!

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, throughout the month of October Allstate agents and financial specialists will host a community-wide children's clothing drive to benefit the Committee to Aid Abused Women (CAAW), a nonprofit dedicated to ending family violence in Washoe County.

CAAW provides individuals and families with a step-by-step path to safer and healthier living through individualized service plans, as well as the caring support that the victims need. They recently opened 12 new family housing units. The clothing collected during the drive will benefit the children who stay in those units, many of which often arrive with nothing more than the clothes on their backs.

Domestic violence affects one in four women in her lifetime. Allstate Foundation Purple Purse is dedicated to supporting domestic violence victims in overcoming the devastation of leaving a home, income, benefits and financial security. This supply drive will support local women and their children on the path to a healthy, successful future. Please join us in empowering survivors of domestic violence.

If you'd like to support this month's drive, please review the list below and bring items to a participating Allstate agent or financial specialist listed below. Donors will receive purple purse charms to symbolize their support for domestic violence survivors (while supplies last).

Items in Need:

  • New and gently used children's clothing

Contact your local participating Allstate agent or financial specialist for questions about donating items.
