Report Release Event

Into the Gray Zone: Active Defense by the Private Sector against Cyber Threats

The Center for Cyber & Homeland Security (CCHS) at the George Washington University invites you to a discussion that it is holding on the morning of Monday, October 31st, 2016, to release its new report on the issue of active defense by the private sector against cyber threats.

In the fall of 2015, the Center convened a senior-level task force to examine how private sector companies can effectively and appropriately defend themselves against cyber threats.  The report provides a framework and set of guiding principles that can inform responsible action by the private sector and government agencies, as well as recommendations that can facilitate the adoption of such a framework.

The Center's Project on Active Defense by the Private Sector against Cyber Threats has been carried out thanks to the financial support of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and the Smith Richardson Foundation.
The event will feature a brief overview presentationon the key findings of the report by Christian Beckner, Deputy Director, CCHS, followed by a moderated discussion of the report featuring Admiral Dennis C. Blair, former Director of National Intelligence; Frank Cilluffo, Director, CCHS; and Nuala O'Connor, President and CEO, Center for Democracy and Technology.  The panel will be moderated by Sara Sorcher, Deputy Editor, Passcode, The Christian Science Monitor.
Passcode, a project of The Christian Science Monitor, is a media co-sponsor of the event.
