About the Speaker: Mark Brugger is Sr. Program Manager at Learning Ally, a leading non-profit for supporting students with dyslexia and visual impairments. He speaks nationwide and has presented workshops to thousands. He successfully created the first online conference on Dyslexia, “Spotlight on Dyslexia” for parents and educators — now in its third year — as well as the first online literacy training class for educators with the original Orton-Gillingham Approach. Mark has been an advocate for children and adults with disabilities for decades and brings practical knowledge as a parent of a special needs child, a trained special education advocate (NSEAI), a community organizer, and a former case manager for college students with disabilities. Mark has been a serial entrepreneur in technology and telecommunications with degrees from the University of Virginia and the University of Michigan. He is currently the Treasurer of his Special Education PTA and brings a unique perspective from both his work and his experience as someone with dyslexia and other specific learning disabilities.
