Due to Hurricane Mathew the AP conference had been postponed. We have rescheduled the conference for November 16-17, 2017 at the University of North Florida

The Florida Assistant Principals Leadership Conference is presented by the Florida Association of School Administrators (FASA) and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). This Conference will deliver great content directly related to the Florida Principal Leadership Standards and specifically focused on the areas APs said they need more training - Educational Leadership, Resolving Complex Problems, Communication & Developing Self and Others. See the alignment of the standards and the skills.

This is not a "sit-and-get" Conference. You will be up and learning, while also networking with other APs from across the state. During the day we will review the 10 Skills, have a panel discussion from APs that are putting the Skills to work for them, dive deeper on the skills you need, and then tie it all together before we leave.

We are adding a second day to the conference!
Our previous AP attendees have asked for a second day to go over another set of the 10 skills. The second day will consist of another deep dive into 3 more skills along with a concrete implementation plan. You will have the chance to set-up an action plan for this school year and develop relationships to hold you accountable to follow through with your plan. New attendees can register for both days together and Leadership Alumni can register for Day 2.

Registration for both days: $187 includes your guidebook and lunch
Day 1 Registration: $120 includes your guidebook and lunch
Day 2 Alumni Registration: $93

The conference will be held in the Talon Room at the UNF Fine Arts Center.

Keynote Speaker
Thomas G. “Tom” Evans, has 35 years’ experience as both a high school and middle school principal in a career of 46 years in public education. During his long and highly successful career, he has worked indefatigably on local, state, and national levels to raise expectations and performance levels for all students, teachers, and fellow administrators. He has served as a trainer with the NASSP Assessment Project and NASSP’s Breaking Ranks II for many years, traveling across the country presenting best practices for school reform in schools with intractable challenges. He has been a frequent presenter at state and national conferences.
While principal at Eastern Technical High School, and connected to his school being named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, Mr. Evans received the U.S. Department of Education Terrell Bell Award for Distinguished Educational Leadership. He has served on numerous significant committees to improve education, including the Governor’s P-20 Leadership Council in MD, the MD CTE Task Force, the Teacher and Principal Effectiveness Committees (developing new evaluation systems for each), and the PAR (Peer Assistance and Review) Committee which created a peer observation and evaluation system for teachers in his former district. An active member of the Maryland Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) and National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), he received the MetLife/NASSP State Principal of the Year Award for Maryland in 2008.
