The Converge on the Capitol is a vital opportunity for you and your colleagues to participate in the legislative process. Your visits with your legislative leaders and their staff lets them see the faces and hear the priorities of the tourism and lodging industry operators firsthand – a critical component in our ability to be successful at the Capitol.
This is the largest industry legislative event in the nation and we hope you will join us in Austin on February 16th. We will meet at the Austin Convention Center where you will be briefed on the lodging and tourism industry’s key legislative priorities at issue in the 2017 legislative session. We will have lunch and you will be given a packet of information noting these priorities to leave with the state legislators and their staff during your scheduled visits at the Texas Capitol.
Converge on the Capitol is an opportunity to visit with and become familiar or friendlier with the legislators and their staff who affect how lodging and tourism operators do business in Texas. Your legislators want to hear from you, and the Converge is the perfect way to make your voice heard. We invite and encourage both THLA members and nonmembers to attend.

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Registration at the Austin Convention Center, Ballroom D, 4th Floor

11:00 AM - 12:40 PM Briefing on Legislative Issues at the Convention Center, and Lunch
12:40 PM - 1:30 PM Complimentary bus transportation to the Capitol
1:30 PM - 2:15 PM Visit with your State Senator and/or staff at the Capitol
2:15 PM - 3:00 PM Visit with your State Representative and/or staff at the Capitol
3:00 PM - 3:30 PM Complimentary bus transportation from the Capitol to the Convention Center
Note: If you bring a valid Texas License to Carry (LTC) with you to the Capitol, you may be able to bypass the security screening.
