Intervention Development: Integration of Mentoring & Peer Support for Young Adults with Mental Health Conditions

This seminar will highlight the context and experiences of transition-age youth and young adults living with mental health conditions. Dr. Munson will describe two intervention programs that incorporate recovery role models to improve engagement and overall health and wellness of young adults. A discussion of the development of recovery role models who are mentors for young adults who have lived experience will follow. There will be time for comments and conversation.

Dr. Munson is a nationally recognized expert in mental health services and interventions for young adults. She directs the Youth and Young Adult Mental Health Group at NYU, is on the editorial board of the Journal of Emerging Adulthood, and has been an invited expert reviewer for the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, William T. Grant Foundation, and the Institute of Medicine's report on health and wellbeing of young adults. Dr. Munson's research seeks to develop, refine, and test interventions for adolescents and young adults with serious mental health conditions.

Light refreshments will be served. Please let us know if you have any food allergies.

The Systems and Psychosocial Advances Research Center (SPARC) is pleased to announce the SPARC Research Seminar Series.
