QuickBooks Basic Part 1

 This workshop does NOT cover QuickBooks online or  QuickBooks for a Mac.

Learn to use the most popular bookkeeping software ever! 
 
You can do your own bookkeeping and control all your finances in-house! This class demonstrates all the basics so you can get started right away.

  • Setting up a company
  • Customer invoicing
  • Receiving payments
  • Tracking receivables
  • Entering and paying vendor bills
  • Receiving and tracking inventory
  • Credit card charges
  • Reconciling and preparing financial statements

This is a lecture-format workshop on PC. You will receive comprehensive handouts to follow the computer-based visual demonstration. You may bring a laptop for hands-on participation, but individual computer issues cannot be addressed during the workshop.

It is recommended, but not required, that QuickBooks Basic Part 1 be completed before attending QuickBooks Basic Part 2. 

 

Presenter:

Jo Barsa - With more than 30 years of experience, Jo brings a passion to client service that began in 1987, when she founded her own accounting consulting firm. In 2001, Jo built out a software division, Barsa Technology Solutions, Inc., which she sold in 2009. Jo leads a team of talented professionals who set the standard for accounting and tax services.  The firm focuses on providing turnkey accounting and tax solutions to small businesses and their owners. Jo and her staff have been working with Quickbooks for many years and are fluent in all versions, including Pro, Premier, Enterprise and Online. Jo also specializes in tax resolution, assisting clients who owe back taxes reduce their tax liability and work out payment arrangements with the IRS, Franchise Tax Board, Employment Development Department, Board of Equalization, and other taxing agencies.  Jo has been recognized for her leadership by the San Diego Business Journal for the Women Who Mean Business (nominated 4 years); and was a finalist for the Most Admired CEO award. Jo earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting from San Diego State University in 1983 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the California Society of CPAs.  Jo has been a member of Vistage International since 2003, Provisors since 2010, and San Diego Business Resources since 2009, for which she has been president for 3 years.
