Aims, Objectives & Learning Outcomes:

Understand the basic principles of the law of consent and how they apply in oral surgery practice, be able to explain how the law of consent is applied in primary and secondary care and understand whether there is a difference in the approach. 

Appreciate what triggers a complaint in oral surgery practice and be able to describe how to manage that complaint. 

Be able to develop a strategy for reduction of complaints in practice & understand if there is any difference between providing treatment in primary and secondary care depending on whether you are a specialist or not.
