Raise your voice for mental health!

Come join NAMI Virginia, The Campaign for Children's Mental Health, Mental Health America of Virginia, and VOCAL for the 2017 Mental Health Advocacy Day on Wednesday, January 25th. Spend some time meeting with your legislators at the Virginia General Assembly to put a face on mental health issues. Key messages and talking points will be provided to help you get your ideas across.

General Outline for the day

  • 8am: Meet inside the Patrick Henry Building for a brief morning orientation
  • 9am: Meet inside the General Assembly Building
  • 9am-11:00am: Attend legislative appointments (times vary)
  • 9am-11:30am: Legislative breakfast
  • 11:30-12:30: Observe a legislative session in the Capitol
  • 12:30-1:00: Join us back at the Patrick Henry Building for a collective de-brief

We look forward to seeing you in Richmond!

Please note: Scheduled legislative appointments are not guarantees. The session is extremely busy and unpredictable for our legislatures. Appointments may be cancelled at any time, including the day of. Additionally, we will be unable to schedule legislative appointments for registrants that sign up after Friday, January 20th. However, we still strongly encourage you to attend! Even without an appointment, coming on the 25th, stopping by your legislator's office, signing his/her guest book, and leaving information behind with the Legislative Aide makes a significant difference!

If you plan on attending, PLEASE register, no matter what date it is.
