Presenters

Jacqueline A. Fehr is an associate in KPMG Law LLP, practicing in affiliation with the Tax Dispute Resolution and Litigation practice of KPMG in Vancouver. In that capacity, Jacqueline’s practice focuses on all stages of the tax dispute resolution and litigation process; from dealing with CRA audits to litigating in court.

Prior to joining KPMG Law LLP in 2011, Jacqueline served as a judicial clerk to Justice Karen Sharlow at the Federal Court of Appeal and articled at a leading national Canadian law firm.

Arlene H. Henry, QC is a member of Mediate BC’s Roster Committee and each of the civil, family and child protection mediator Rosters. As a member of the Roster Committee, Arlene was instrumental in the review and development of both Mediate BC Standards of Conduct for Mediators and the Med-Arb Guidelines and Recommended Standards of Conduct (in collaboration with BCAMI).

Arlene is a lawyer, mediator, parenting coordinator, adjudicator, instructor, and dispute resolution coach. She has been mediating since 1998 and is particularly interested in the restructuring of families, and child and youth participation in dispute resolution processes. Arlene trained at both the JIBC and CLEBC and is a certified comprehensive family mediator with Family Mediation Canada. Arlene is on the board of both the BC Parenting Coordinators Roster Society and the BC Hear the Child Society, and is actively involved in the development of each discipline within BC. She has lead and coached family and civil mediation courses for multiple training organizations.

Arlene is also experienced in working with aboriginal First Nations, assisting with the implementation of each of the Tsawwassen and the Maa-nulth First Nations Treaties. She is a former member of both the Employment Assistance Appeal Tribunal and the mediation roster for the Police Complaint Commission.

Jaime M. Sarophim graduated from the University of British Columbia with a juris doctor and was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2011. She now practices solely in the area of personal injury law. She has coached students at the University of British Columbia and through the Society of Notaries of British Columbia who are aspiring mediators for the past 5 years. She was a finalist in the National Mediation Advocacy Moot held in Toronto in 2009. Jaime has been involved in mediations from the Small Claims level to large multi-party mediations (involving more than 200 parties).
