This is a two - day training.

Day one-  Dec. 7, 2016

Day two- Dec. 8, 2016

Add to Calendar
The Behavioral Principles and Strategies (BPS) Training is scheduled in Central Region on December 7 and 8, 2016, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm each day.  The training will be conducted by Master Trainer - Kay Jones.

Attendance will be limited to 24 people.

This course will cover Units I - IV of the Behavioral Principles and Strategies (BPS) Curriculum. Participants will be able to receive a certificate for successfully completing the BPS training and post - test.

Because not all agencies use restrictive techniques, two types of certificates are offered:

1.  BPS Completion of Units 1-3, (which excludes the restrictive techniques)

2.  BPS Completion of Units 1-4 (which includes the restrictive techniques)

Agencies who have a restraint - free policy will only need staff to complete Units I-III, and will be able to leave at about lunch time on day two.

Because there are strict guidelines for  minimum and maximum attendance for physical techniques on day 2, agencies will be limited to send 3 people to the training, and we ask that agencies and participants be flexible with attending an alternative "day two" if needed to accommodate groups that exceed the minimum number of participants.  Any scheduling changes will be announced via email with 48 hours of notice.

There will be a fee in the amount of $50 per person per day for those staff who do not attend.   Supervisors will be emailed the invoice, as provided at registration.

Note to Registrants:

 1.  The cost for the BPS classes will remain at no charge, unless there is a failure to attend without a supervisor or participant giving 24- hour notice.  These fees have recently been implemented to cover the rising cost of no-shows for this training.

 2. To register, an applicant must complete the form on the registration link.

3. Applicants will need to provide supervisor name and email so that confirmation of attendance can be sent to supervisors and participants.  Registration is considered incomplete until all information in the registration section has been successfully submitted.

 4. There is no guarantee that everyone who registers will be accepted into the training; everyone will be notified by email in either case.  Applicants will be notified by email when placed on the class roster, and will be given the opportunity at that time to decline attendance should scheduling conflicts exist.

 5. In the event that a requested class is full, the applicant will be placed on the course waiting list and scheduled for the next available class.  It is not necessary to submit multiple forms for each class.

Applicants should not attend unless they receive an email confirmation from DDA.

This event fills quickly.  If you see a message that the training is full, Please consider contacting trainer from the list below.  Trainers may be able to fit you in to a class (fees are different for each trainer), or have a trainer come to your agency:
