Small Bowel Bacterial Overgrowth: A Patient & Professional Perspective, Featuring Dorothy Petito, RD

The Association of Gastrointestinal Motility Disorders, Inc. | AGMD | is honored to host Dorothy Petito, RD, as she discusses small bowel bacterial overgrowth from her personal and professional perspective. There will be ample time for questions and responses.

Dorothy Petito, MPH, RD, CDN has been a Registered Dietitian for 32 years and a patient with multiple gastrointestinal motility disorders for 20 years.  She also has been diagnosed with severe pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic floor dysfunction, hypothyroidism, pre-diabetes and reactive hypoglycemia, orthostatic hypotension, iron deficiency anemia and most recently rheumatoid arthritis.  Although she cannot currently work as a Registered Dietitian due to her health issues, she remains passionate about educating her fellow nutrition professionals about the impact that gastrointestinal motility disorders have on nutritional status.  She recognizes how difficult it is to live with a gastrointestinal motility disorder and as a result truly enjoys contributing her nutrition knowledge and experiences as a patient with other patients especially those who have been newly diagnosed.  She feels truly blessed in her personal life to be married to a wonderful and extraordinarily supportive husband and is the proud mother of two young gentlemen.
