Know your rights: Disability in the Workplace

Being a strong advocate for yourself and others often means listening and learning from those who have faced similar obstacles. In our December webinar we are proud to bring together a Self-Advocate panel moderated by Noah Seidel of The ARC of Washington State to focus on the current state of employment related issues that directly impact millions of citizens throughout the country. Topics for this session will include:

• The ADA; the who, what, where, and when to advocate
• The current state of sub-minimum wage laws
• How to find the right job that fits your needs
• A self-advocate's guide to workers’ rights
• Higher education: options that can assist with career advancement
• Strategies for support professionals to best advocate for their clients

This will be a powerful session delivered by people who have first-hand experience navigating through these challenges. We hope that you will join us and be sure to register early, as our Self-Advocate/Activist sessions always fill up quickly!
