Join us as we visit the rarely-seen “back side” of Staten Island. We’ll pass big ships, and small boats, floating and sunken, pass under five bridges, and, of course, see lighthouses!
The Kills between Staten Island and New Jersey are home to bird sanctuaries on uninhabited islands, working shipyards and ship graveyards. We’ll get close to huge supertankers, see how those massive container ships get loaded and unloaded. On this tour, we pass under five bridges, including the new Bayonne and Goethals expansions. These are just a few of the many things you will see, because many are only visible from the water. Our comfortable private boat, and knowledgeable narrators, make this a trip you won’t forget, and will want to repeat next year! Of course, we’ll point out every lighthouse along the way!
Limited light refreshments are available on board, but feel free to bring your own snacks, but no large coolers, please!
Tickets are $60 Adults, $50 Military and Seniors (62+), $40 Children (10 & under).
Check in begins at 12:15. Boarding will be at 12:45. The boat leaves promptly at 1:00 p.m. from the Stapleton Home Port, 355 Front St., Stapleton, Staten Island, 10304 rain or shine. This last minute change of venue is because the NYC Economic Development Corp has closed Pier 1 while it is evaluating it for structural damage.
For those who will be arriving by Staten Island Ferry, we will provide a shuttle to the Home Port. For intrepid New Yorkers who want to use public transportation, the Staten Island Rapid Transit system departs from the Ferry Terminal. Get off at the Stapleton Station and use the Prospect St. (North) exit, and turn right at the bottom of the stairs. Bay Street buses also stop nearby. It is a short walk from the Stapleton Station to the pier. If you need more information, please call the Museum at 718-390-0040.

The museum will be open normal hours, closing at 5:00 p.m. Normal admission applies. Boat tour ticket holders may visit the museum free during check in, and after the trip, until normal closing time. The gift shop will be open during the check in, and after the tour.

Please note that there may be boarding  limitations for the disabled at certain piers. Kindly call us to discuss if this might be an issue for you or your guest. 718-390-0040
