What is the Get on the Bus campaign?

Get on the Bus is a Forest Hills Foundation for Education #GivingTuesday fundraising campaign to provide after-school activity buses at Nagel. By participating you will give students transportation home so they can stay after school to participate in clubs and activities.

How much money is needed?

$50 pays for one bus for one day.  We need four buses each day to accommodate all the students and keep the bus ride to a reasonable length. We would like to provide buses on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

How did the Get on the Bus campaign get started?  

Last year we asked Nagel counselors what the Foundation could do that would have the most impact.  They said, "We need after-school activity buses."

Middle school is a critical time for students to make social connections and get the chance to feel like they belong.  Involvement in after-school clubs and activities provides opportunities to make these connections. Unfortunately, some students can not participate because they don't have a ride home.  The Nagel after-school activity buses will provide needed transportation so that all students have a chance to participate and gain a sense of belonging.
