January 12, 2017
10:00am- 3:00pm
Alfred State College
Faculty and students in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) disciplines develop and contribute a unique skill-set that can be applied to identify and address community challenges. Some of the most innovative STEM courses and programs connect know-how and innovation to issues of critical local, national, and global importance.
Join us for an interactive roundtable January 12, 2017 from 10:00-3:00 PM sponsored by New York Campus Compact and hosted by Alfred State- SUNY College of Technology. The focus of our time together will be discovering and sharing best practices related to the interface of STEM disciplines and sustainability. Sustainability is defined in an inclusive way encompassing human and ecological health, social justice, secure livelihoods, and creating a better world. Faculty members, program directors, staff, and community partners are invited to join the conversation.
We invite you to share your work with us!
Faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to submit a presentation related to our theme. Posters should be no smaller than 24x36 and may be formatted either vertically or horizontally. Posters should be mounted or clipped to a light weight, rigid backing. Presenters will have at least 15 minutes to present their posters to symposium attendees in several rounds to poster presentations.
