Library Collections - Coping with Pests and Mold: Webinar (02/09/17)

Pests and mold are common culprits for damage and loss in libraries and cultural heritage collections. While preventing infestation is central to good preservation practice, there may come a time when you discover pests or mold (or both!) in your collections.

This two-hour webinar covers strategies for preventing and mitigating issues in your library, archives and museum collections, as well as larger institutional policies and procedures that can be implemented to reduce the chance of infestation.

Virtual Trainer: Frances Harrell, NEDCC Preservation Specialist

Frances Harrell conducts general preservation needs assessments and  represents NEDCC on the COSTEP MA Executive Committee. She has a strong interest in disaster planning and emergency response and recovery, as well as the preservation planning challenges facing smaller collecting institutions. She received an MLIS from Simmons College GSLIS and a BA in English Literature from the University of Florida, and has worked in both development and collections management.

This is an online class. Access information will be emailed one week ahead.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
