    Short Course #1

    Introduction to AC Motor Drives Description: The course introduces basic rotating machines, starting with simple electro-mechanical systems to more advanced totaling machines. Models of two major three-phase machines, the induction machine and permanent magnet synchronous machine, are introduced using reference frame transformations.     "IRON CORE INDUCTORS" This tutorial will present the principles of inductor operation, and the factors which need to be considered in order to achieve a satisfactory and practical design. Instructor: Keith Williams

    Short Course #3

    "EMI FILTER DESIGN" This course covers a variety of basic topics including EMI components such as inductors, capacitors, arresters and EMI gaskets. The Inductor stores energy in their air gaps. This creates leakage flux and can magnetically couple this other units. This seminar discusses several ways to reduce this. Capacitive reactive currents to ground (called leakage currents) and the specification usually limits this current or the capacitor value to ground. Instructor: Richard Ozenbaugh
