Seminars - Saturday 10 - 2

Diesel Maintenance - Karl Allen has been our go to mechanic for 20 years, commissioning and maintaining our boats' inboard engine systems.  He is a factory certified mechanic for Yanmar, Westerbeke, Vovlo-Penta and Fischer Panda.  In addition to the seminar on diesel maintenance, Karl will have a display open from 10 - 2 to answer your questions and provide further demonstrations.

Outboard/Outdrive/Mercruiser Maintenance - Tom Turner and Travis Kopp are factory certified mechanics for Yamaha & Mercury Outboards and Mercruiser Outdrives.  Tom and Travis will review outboard care and maintenance and will have live demo's from 10 - 2.

Medical Emergencies at Sea - Dr Sam Lyness is a recently retired nuerosurgeon and a licensed Coast Guard captain.  The course is designed to teach the recognition and management of medical emergencies off-shore where communicaitons and rescue are limited.  Dr. Lyness also provides a comprehensive list of medical supplies you should take when offshore cruising.

Annual Boat Maintenance - AYS Service will walk you through your annual boat maintenance program - De Winterizing, seasonal maintenance, care and winterizing the systems.

Rum-Tide - Bootlegging on the Bay:  Hear all about the bay's rebellious rum runners from Easton author John Reisinger, a former U.S. Coast Guard officer and retired engineer.  John will take you back to the 1920's where residents of the Bay were either smuggling, hiding, making or transporting spirits to thirsty patrons in Annapolis, Baltimore and Washington D.C.  

Provisioning for Cruising by Denise McLinn: Denise, a client and friend of AYS who, with her jusband John and their 2 dogs, cast off to life aboard their Beneteau 49.  Denise has mastered the art of meal prep and planning for offshore dining ease without sacrificing quality or flavor.  

Cruising the Intracoastal 101 and 102 by Jody Schroath, Editor of the ICW Planning Guide.  Let Jody fill you in on all the intracies and hidden jewels of navigating the ICW on your way south.  

Fishing the Chesapeake - Glenn Schneider and John Whitman:  Both prize winning Striped Bass fishermen on the bay; Glenn has won, or placed, in every tournament he's entered for 30 years.  John has invented a patented rig and owns a fishing charter company out of Deale MD.  Between them, you will learn what rig to use during each season, where to go, and signs to look for, to find the baitfish and the prize winning rock fish for each season.

West Marine - West Marine will have a booth open 10 - 2 with the latest instruments from Simrad, Lowrance and B&G for demonstrations and questions.
