For every four people leaving the trades, only one person is entering the trades, creating a shortage of skilled workers in the construction industry today. For the construction industry to flourish, more young people need to choose a career in construction.
CEFGA's CareerExpo gives employers a way to engage with young people and connect with their future workforce. By linking students directly to professionals in the areas of construction, utility contracting, highway contracting, electrical contracting, mechanical contracting, energy, mining and more, CEFGA gets young people excited about our industry and helps ensure the new generation is aware of career opportunities in construction.
The event features interactive displays that allow students to engage with industry leaders, equipment and materials in order to tap into their unique skills and interests. A highlight of the CareerExpo is the SkillsUSA State Championships, a competition that invites students to showcase their skills in a number of construction related disciplines. Drawing nearly 7,000 attendees in 2016, CEFGA's CareerExpo is the Southeast's largest construction event.
The CareerExpo is designed for high school students to meet employers and learn about the construction industry in a fun, hands-on way. Students make up 70% of attendees, with more than 300 companies and 1,200 indsutry representatives participating in 2016.Sponsorship Opportunities
