Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Exports Compliance Seminar (formerly AESDirect)

December 6, 2017: One Day Seminar (qualifies for 7 CES credits)

The Census Bureau and port officers from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will offer an engaging day of learning. As of April 5, 2014, new export requirements were implemented that amended the regulations published in 2008. Census Bureau experts will cover these regulations and filing requirements of the FTR, as well as provide a thorough overview of the ACE.  CBP officers will cover port requirements and efforts against terrorism and international narcotics trafficking. Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) officers will highlight export control requirements.

  • Regulations/filing requirements of the FTR
  • How to avoid common penalties and seizure of cargo
  • AESDirect transition to Automated Commercial Environment (ACE), including a live demo
  • BIS export control requirements
  • Export enforcement
  • Identifying red flags
  • Best practices for maintaining compliance

Who should attend?

All those involved in the export process: Freight Forwarders, Exporting Carriers, Consolidators, Compliance Software Providers, U.S. Customs Brokers, U.S. Principal Parties in Interest including Manufactures and Suppliers.

Registration: The seminar registration fee is $275 per person. The fee includes continental breakfast, coffee break, lunch, and conference materials. A free shuttle is scheduled to depart the hotel promptly at 7:30 AM and 7:45 AM to the Fiesta Banquet.  The shuttle will then be scheduled to pick up from the Fiesta at 5:15 PM and 5:30 PM and return to the hotel.
