 Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA

Today's voice for dementia, Teepa Snow, is one of the world's leading advocates and educators for anyone living with dementia.  Teepa's philosphy is reflective of her work experience, medical research, and first hand caregiving experiences.  Her advocacy efforts led to the development of the GEMS dementia classification model and the Positive Approach to care training strategies.

Teepa has over 35 years of clinical experience in the field of geriatrics and dementia care, as well as having provided care to family members with dementing illnesses.  She provides interactive and creative educational and practical hands-on training sessions to organizations and providers throught the US, Canada, Austrailia, and the UK.  She has been actively involved in teaching and clinical research projects throughout her practice career.  Teepa has impacted hundreds of organizations worldwide with her education, now sold in over 30 countries. 

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS

CEUs will be offered to healthcare professionals.

*Must register as a healthcare professional for $125 to be eligible for CEUs.

*There will be a $5 processing fee for all refund requests. 

St. Elizabeth Professional Development is an approved  provider of continuing nursing education by the South Central  Accreditation Program, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. 

6 contact hours has been submitted for approval for registration, attendance of the entire program and completion of the post program evaluation. St Elizabeth Professional Development and Alzheimer’s Services of Capitol the Area are co-providers is this Nursing Continuing Education Program.

Social Workers: 6 clinical hours of continuing education have been approved by Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area, which is recognized by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners as an approved provider of continuing education.Registered

Nursing Facility Administrators: 6 hours of continuing education has been approved by the State of Louisiana Board of Examiners of Nursing Facility Administrators. 

Speech Language Pathologists & Audiologists: The Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology has pre-approved 6 hours of continuing education in a related area.

Occupational Therapists: 6 hours of continuing education have been approved by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.

Activity Therapists: 6 contact hours has been submitted to the NCCAP for Certified Activity Directors & Certified Activity Consultants. 

Other healthcare disciplines: A certificate of attendance will be provided to present to respective licensing boards.
