OVERVIEW
Changes to the Medicare payment system are on the horizon, and physicians want to know how the new Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) will impact their practices. This program is designed to provide physicians an understanding of how MACRA is being implemented in local health systems, and the impact they can expect in their practice of medicine. Representatives from local healthcare systems will have an opportunity to provide their unique perspective of payment reform practices.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

  • Define Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA)
  • Discuss how physician compensation will be affected with the implementation of MACRA
  • Review administrative challenges related to MACRA implementation
  • Discuss MACRA and its expected impact on physician workload and work-life balance
  • Identify specific plans within local health systems to address payment reform
