Tech Ranch: Securing Capital to Grow Your Business

What financing options are available for aspiring and existing entrepreneurs? This Biz Ed on Friday at Microsoft workshop by SCORE provides a view into the world of online lending and helps guide businesses to their best funding options.

Your presenter will explain how the different types of financing work and who provides them, which financing options are right for different types of businesses, how to apply for financing, what to expect after the application is submitted, and how likely you are to get approved. Learn what is right for you and the difference between Non-Profit Lenders, Crowdfunding, Invoice Financing, Online Lending and Loan Matching Sites. Part of the presentation highlights "An Insider’s View:  Securing Capital to Grow your Business." In addition, an interactive tool called "The Fundability Quiz" helps you run a check on your financials and will help you find your best funding options.

Speaker Name: Lyn Hittle

Speaker Bio: Lyn is a retired Bank CFO and HR Director, who also was a VP in Finance at an airline she helped to take public in 1997. In the early nineties, she was the Controller for a project to buy a bankrupt, shut down iron foundry in Western PA, where she helped put together state, local Economic Development, and bank loans. The state representative said it was the most creative funding project he had ever seen. In
2010, Lyn wrote a position paper for the Securities and Exchange Commission to set a new limited
standard of Generally Accepted Accounting Standards for publicly traded TARP financing. The SEC, after reading the position paper and having Lyn defend it, concurred with her position.
