NEFLIN School Libraries Interest Group: Online (09/27/17) - Rescheduled!

Being a school librarian can be tough because you’re normally all alone—fear not! Our School Libraries Interest Group gives you the chance to connect with your fellow school librarians from Northeast Florida in a safe and comfortable way on a quarterly basis. We encourage participation in discussions from all members in order to share our successes and our challenges. It is a vital time to advocate for our profession and we will work together to showcase why we are so important to our schools and communities.

Our next meeting will be held online on Wednesday, Sept. 27th, from 2:30 - 3:30. See the agenda below for information about the session topics.

I.    Welcome
II.   Back to School
III.  Library Orientation Ideas
IV.  FAME in October:  Why you should go
V.   Next meeting in November:  face-to-face or online?
VI.  Anything else?

Facilitator: Kate Neff, Teacher Librarian, Pedro Menendez High School

Kate Neff is a high school “technolibrarian” at Pedro Menendez High School in St. Augustine, Florida. She was named a Florida Power-Library in 2015. She is active in the Florida Association for Media in Education (FAME) and holds various positions in the organization. She is the sponsor of numerous clubs on campus (but her favorite is book club, of course) and is a passionate advocate for school libraries. She tweets as @katereadsitall and blogs for her school’s library athttp://blogs.stjohns.k12.fl.us/hs/pmhs/neff/.

Cost: NEFLIN Interest Groups are free of charge and are open to NEFLIN members only.  Registration is strongly encouraged.
