We Were Made for This Moment

With Eileen Flanagan
Quaker teacher and climate justice activist

Thursday, March 9, 7 - 9 p.m.

$30 per person  |  $25 for CIL Members

At this time of increasing political turmoil and division, spiritual grounding is particularly important, and those who have been engaged in spiritual practice have an important role to play. At the same time, spiritual grounding and practice are not enough. Quaker teacher and climate justice activist Eileen Flanagan will speak about how integrating spiritual teachings with the lessons of nonviolent social movements can help us work for a more just and loving society in ways that are both effective and transformative.

A graduate of Duke and Yale University, Eileen Flanagan is the award-winning author of three books, most recently Renewable: One Woman's Search for Simplicity, Faithfulness, and Hope  which won a 2015 Silver Nautilus Book Award. She speaks to international audiences on topics ranging from personal empowerment and spirituality to climate justice, and teaches an online course called "We Were Made for this Moment."

Eileen is also the board chair of Earth Quaker Action Team, which uses nonviolent direct action to work for a just and sustainable economy. Read more at eileenflanagan.com.
