Public Policy and Numbers Everyone Should Know

Can an improved understanding of basic economics tools help students gain a better grasp of public policy?  We think so!  This workshop begins with a presentation focused on the numbers that every citizen needs to know.  Next, the participants will meet FRED - - the Federal Reserve Economic Database.   Finally, they will examine why it is so often the case that good – efficient – economic policy may be bad politics.  Numbers everyone should know, productivity, debt & deficit, good economics/bad politics/public choice. With Mark Schug and Mary Suiter, St. Louis Fed resources! For grades 6-12

$25 Registration fee includes lunch, curriculum and 7 hours of professional development
