Wired for Science.... Infants and Toddlers 

6/15/17

The workshop will highlight the importance of understanding brain development in young children in order to create infant and toddler classroom activities that engage and encourage curiosity and learning. During this workshop early childhood educators will participate in brain development activities and discussion. Educators will explore how to support infant and toddlers’ cognitive development. The teachers will design hands-on DAP (Developmentally Age Appropriate) science activities that highlight the connection between infant and toddlers’ emotional, social and cognitive development. The teachers will compare and contrast premade science sensory activities appropriate for infants and toddlers.

A course in which students will interact in discussion as well as with materials as they gain information for planning, implementing and evaluating developmentally appropriate materials, activities, environment and instructional strategies for using music and movement as a form of expression and communication as well as integrate music and movement throughout the curriculum in early childhood and elementary education from birth to grade 3.
