Unintended Consequences of Education Policy

Join us for our first meeting of the Nashville Bastiat Society in 2017!

We will examine the unintended consequences of our education policy over the past several decades and discuss needed reforms to get our country back on track in this area.

Joining us this month will be guest speaker Adam Peshek from the Foundation for Excellence in Education (FEE). Adam Peshek is Director of Education Choice at the Foundation for Excellence in Education, where he provides strategic support to state decision makers interested in developing, adopting, and implementing policies that increase educational options for students. He has provided expert testimony in more than a dozen state legislatures and is a frequent commentator on ESAs, school choice, and education policy across the country. He is the co-editor of an upcoming book titled, Education Savings Accounts: The New Frontier in School Choice, published in conjunction with the American Enterprise Institute. The book is the first comprehensive publication on ESAs and will be released in early 2017.

Adam previously served as legislative director at the Foundation for Florida’s Future, director of the task force on education at the American Legislative Exchange Council and as a research associate at the Reason Foundation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from Florida State University and is completing a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University.
