The discipline of Nursing Informatics is a growing, important sector in healthcare IT. As the largest group of users of electronic health records, nurses are seeking a greater influence on optimization and development efforts so that the tool is less of a burden on clinicians and more of a ‘vital key’ to the delivery of high quality care. Healthcare organizations and vendors now realize the importance of refining the design of electronic health records so they better facilitate efficiency and accuracy of documentation, and streamline clinical workflows.
Opportunities to discuss ideas, brainstorm and collect the input of nurses are critical to furthering the goals of all stakeholders. We are proud to announce that the Portland Community of Nursing Informaticians and HIMSS Oregon will jointly host an event focused on how to engage clinical EHR users, assess EHR aptitude, streamline for efficiency and increase user adoption. Join us for presentations from distinguished members of Portland’s local informatics community, including representatives from Kaiser, Providence and OHSU, and learn how you can improve the use of EHR’s in your organization. Cost is just $10 HIMSS Members, $15 Non-Members, $5 students and will include a free drink ticket. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.
This event has been approved for up to 1.5 hours in continuing education (CE) hours for use in fulfilling the continuing education requirements of the Certified Professional in Healthcare Management Systems (CPHIMS) and Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS).
