Castello Banfi Wine Dinner at Forno Bistro

Join us at Forno Bistro on January 23rd for a Banfi Wine Dinner featuring Banfi Wine Ambassador Luciano Castiello.  Castello Banfi is family-owned vineyard estate and winery in the Brunello region of Tuscany. This award-winning estate was founded on the philosophy of blending tradition with innovation, and is recognized as a pioneer in elevating the standards of Italian winemaking.

Luciano Castiello is the official ambassador for Castello Banfi and Vigne Regali, and unofficial ambassador for Italy’s melody-filled, wine-charmed, “slow food” culture.

1st Course paired with Banfi Pinot Grigio, 2015
Winemaker Comment “This 100% Pinot Grigio belongs to Castello Banfi estate-bottled single-varietals range. Thanks to the Montalcino microclimate our Tuscan Pinot Grigio adds to the typical aromas of this variety an unusual body, flavour and balance.”
Tris di Pesce Crudo
Trio of raw fish with accoutrements

2nd Course paired with Rosso di Castello Banfi Rosso Di Montalcino, 2013
Winemaker Comment “A super-classic of Montalcino and Banfi. A wine able to match the elegance and solidity of its elder counterpart with a freshness and directness that make it one of the most versatile wines within Banfi’s offer. Very enjoyable when released, it is also suitable for a long aging.”
Pollo Arrosto ai Funghi
Roasted chicken thighs with wild mushrooms

3rd Course paired with Banfi Centine, 2014
Winemaker Comment “The best tradition of the Sangiovese grape in Tuscany that, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, allows a youthful and intensely fruity blend. The ideal companion of simple dishes but also suitable for more complex matches.”
Tagliatelle con Ragu di Cinghiale
Fresh tagliatelle with wild boar ragu

4th Course paired with Banfi Cum Laude, 2011
Winemaker Comment “Our newest SuperTuscan cuvée, Cum Laude - Latin for “with honors” - combines for the first time the four red varietals which have been selected during the 25 years of research as the best for our vineyards in Montalcino. A charming red wine suitable for complex food pairings but also in more informal occasions.”
Brasato di Manzo con Polenta
Braised beef cheeks over creamy polenta
