CONNECT with MAEA through the

ARTIST MAKERS COLLABORATION SERIES

SHARED SPACES

Join the Maryland Art Education Association this winter as we host a series of collaboration-based workshops!  Teachers and artists will facilitate each upcoming workshop with presentations of their own work and practices.  Attendees will be able to create personal and collaborative works in response to prompts designed by their artist/ teacher.  Artworks and further investigations by participants in this professional development series will be displayed in an exhibit highlighting the process, planning, and works of art teachers develop at the 2017 MAEA Conference hosted by the Maryland Institute College of Art.  Looking forward to seeing you at the workshop!

Baltimore Print Studios – February 18th

COLLABORATION - SHARED SPACES Workshop

10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

How can artists share space in ways that leads to more dynamic ways of making? What inherently collaborative processes require that we work together to make and teach art? Learn new possibilities of creatively sharing the classroom and work space with your colleagues and students in a workshop requiring all hands in the letter press printing process. Join Kyle Van Horn and Kim Bentley, owners and operators of Baltimore Print Studios, a printing work space located in the Station North neighborhood of Baltimore, as they share their knowledge in managing and working in this unique studio space.

Participation in this workshop includes a tour of the Baltimore Print Studios facilities and learning screen printing and letterpress techniques. Attendees will also create a hand printed art education advocacy poster that you can bring back to your studio, office, or classroom.
