On Saturday, February 4 from 6 to 9 pm, Pin Point Heritage Museum will host “Art & Oysters,” an exclusive meet and greet with renowned artists Reynier Llanes and Fletcher Williams, III. All funds raised from this event will benefit the annual operations at Pin Point Heritage Museum.

The event will include savory soul food, oysters and premium bar access for each guest. Entertainment will be provided by Sweetfield of Eden Baptist Church Choir. Williams’ and Llanes’ artwork will also be available for purchase the evening of the event.

Reynier Llanes was born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba in 1985. He attended the city’s school of art (Instructores de arte) and completed his studies in 2004. In Havana, Reynier was tutored by one of the country’s most recognized realist artists, Juan Miguel Suárez. In 2007 Llanes emigrated from Cuba and moved to the United States, first settling in Naples, FL and then in Charleston, SC. In 2012, Oxford America recognized Llanes as one of the "New Superstars of Southern Art". His work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and permanent collections, including: Cornell Fine Arts Museum Rollins College, Snite Museum of Art in South Bend, Indiana and Naples Museum of Art in Naples, FL.

Fletcher Williams, III is a multi-media artist whose works examine identity, history and popular culture. As a native of Charleston, SC, he's gained the knowledge of local tradition and craft that he often combines with found materials and pop culture motifs to comment on Charleston's cultural and social divisions. Fletcher received his BFA from The Cooper Union for the Advancement in Science and Art (2010). Recent exhibitions include MoCada Summer Exhibition (Museum of Contemporay African Diasporan Art, Brooklyn, NY 2016), Beyond The Rainbow (Charleston, SC 2016) and Route To Resettlement (Mann-Simon Site Columbia, SC 2016).
